First of all my wife, Tracelyn Gesteland, who was singing a lead role in the opera, Gianni Schicci, at the time was incredibly supportive of my going to China and cheered me on all the way! My parents helped me by sending me various gifts to bring to china, and the rest of my family helped me by giving me priceless tips on safety in traveling. I could never have done it without them.
